| | McGegan Brings a Fresh Ear to Familiar Repertoire

On May 26, some 100 members of the Juilliard Orchestra boarded a plane, crossed over the North Pole, and 13 hours later, arrived in China for a 10-day tour that would take them to Beijing and Shanghai. It was a beautiful spring morning on Friday, May 23, perfect weather for the class of 2008’s commencement ceremony. Parents, family members, and friends gathered in Avery Fisher Hall to listen to tenor Plácido Domingo (photo), who was one of six honorary degree recipients, give the commencement address, and then watched as 260 proud dancers, actors, and musicians received degrees at the School’s 103rd annual graduation.
