Leslie Smith is a lighting designer based in New York City. Originally from Oregon, she studied at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, receiving a B.A. in English while designing theatre productions. She continued work with Imago Theatre in Portland and touring internationally. Leslie received her M.F.A. in lighting design from NYU Tisch Design for Stage & Film (J.S. Seidman Award, 2014).

Recent designs include: This Is Sadie (co-design, NYCCT); The Emperor’s Nightingale, Acquittal (Pan Asian Repertory); Iphigenia and Other Daughters, Ubu Roi, Peter/Piper, Spring Awakening, Comedy of Errors (Post Theater Company); POUND (Triumverate Artists); Breitwisch Farm (Esperance Theater Company); Broken/Open, Stories (Marked Dance Project); The Errors and Arrows of Eros (Gelsey Kirkland Ballet).

Leslie is also the resident lighting designer for Nunnbetter Dance Theatre, and regularly designs the window displays at the Ralph Lauren flagship stores.
