Violin, Viola, Violoncello Majors: A minimum of three years of Chamber Music (four years for Violoncello majors) is required, including String Quartet Survey in the first year, an additional year of String Quartet and a year of the student’s choosing (two years for Violoncello majors). Assignments made by audition. Orchestral repertory classes available by audition.

Brass Majors: A minimum of two years of Orchestral Repertory and two years of Chamber Music are required, including one year of the American Brass Quintet seminar and one year of the student’s choosing. Assignments made by audition. Trumpet, Trombone, and low brass studio classes required.

Woodwind Majors: A minimum of two years of Orchestral Repertory and two years of Chamber Music are required, including one year of the New York Woodwind Quintet seminar and one year of the student’s choosing. Assignments made by audition.

Horn Majors: A minimum of two years of Orchestral Repertory and two years of Chamber Music, including one year of American Brass Quintet seminar and one year of the New York Wind Quintet seminar are required. Assignments made by audition.

Harp Majors: Four years of Orchestral Repertory for Harp and two years of Chamber Music are required, including one year of the Harp, Guitar, and Winds seminar and one year of the student’s choosing. Assignments made by audition.

Double Bass Majors: Four years of Double Bass Ensemble with major teacher required.

Percussion Majors: A minimum of two years of Orchestral Repertory and four years of Percussion Ensemble are required. Assignments made by audition.

All Majors: Please note that all first-time college students are required to participate in a one-credit seminar titled Juilliard Colloquium during the first year.­
