Private Teacher Directory

Welcome to The Juilliard School’s private teacher network. Our national directory includes instrumental and voice teachers and coaches, as well as specialists in ear training and theory.

Our teachers are Juilliard students, faculty, or alumni who offer high-quality private instruction. Lessons range from $50 to $100 per hour. (If you are a Juilliard student, faculty member, alumnus or alumna, and wish to be listed in the Private Teacher Directory, please click here.)

Tips for Selecting a Teacher
To find the right teacher, use the search tool below to select a few individuals who fit your preferences (area of study, teaching style, geographic location) and call them directly. (Please do not call the Juilliard School to ask for teacher recommendations.) When you speak to the teachers, let them know what your expectations are, and, if applicable, tell them about your past experiences as a student. It is important that your personalities match and that the teacher understands your goals.

After interviewing and selecting the teacher you like most, schedule a trial lesson. (Even though it’s a trial, you will need to pay the teacher for his or her time and expertise.) This will give you a taste of what your studies with that specific teacher will be like.
