Visiting Juilliard

For many prospective students, visiting a school allows the chance to observe, ask questions, and experience the atmosphere and environment that makes each school unique. More importantly, a school visit solidifies for many their choice of post-secondary education. For that reason, Juilliard encourages and welcomes prospective students and their families to visit us and take a tour.  Due to limited space availability, advance reservations are required.

TOURS

General tours of The Juilliard School take visitors around the facilities, are given Monday - Friday at 11:45am and last approximately one hour. Our tour is given by current students who are trained and equipped to answer questions from a student's perspective as well as share with you their personal experiences as Juilliard students. Guests on the tour will be shown classroom, practice and performance spaces.

  • General Tours- the tour will cover all three divisions (Dance, Drama, and Music)

This year, the Admissions Office is offering prospective applicants (students applying in the next 2-3 years) the opportunity to take division specific tours in Dance and Drama on a few specific dates. These tours will provide visitors with a more focused experience and will allow guests to hear directly from someone going through the experience with first-hand knowledge of the training.  Please note that start times for these tours vary.

  • Dance Tours - tour given by a dance student, focusing on the Juilliard Dance Division
  • Drama Tours - tour given by a drama student or representative, focusing on the Juilliard Drama Division

GROUP TOURS

Due to the difficulties in moving large groups through an active building, and limited availability of student tour guides, The Juilliard School Admissions Office regretfully must limit group visits during the academic year. The Office of Admissions may be able to arrange a student lead private group tour for groups that meet the following criteria:

  1. The group must be a maximum 30 persons (including students and chaperones);
  2. The majority of tour participants have a specific interest in The Juilliard School or are seeking a post-secondary
    education in the performing arts (i.e. Dance, Drama, Classical Music, Jazz Studies);
  3. and tour participants would be applying to college within the next 3 years.
Group tours may be requested by submitting a Group Tour Reqest Form at least three weeks in advance of the desired visit date.
